No, we're not dead |
First, our apologies for not updating the website for such a long time. One reason for this is that there haven't been any news worth mentioning. Another reason is that many of us have been busy with other things. The current status of each member is as follows: - Matthew is working for the company Möbius since February. He hardly had any involvement with IP, but the recent interest in the HiColour library convinced him to continue with the project.
- Clement was busy with school until recently, he's back to action now.
- Andreas is currently in the US, pursuing a summer job. He as well supports
- Jimmy and Johannes, who are currently working on a GBC title.
The recently gained interest in the HiColour library has convinced Matthew to continue working on it. We hope to be able to present you a demo of the library very soon. Seeing that we have received a healthy amount of mails with similar questions, we try to answer them here:
Where can I download the HiColour library?
As of now, the library is not yet available. We hope to provide a demo within the month of August. Also, please note that you will only be able to download a demo, not the library. The library will only be available for a fee.
How much will the library cost? No final price is set. The library will be available for commercial use only. There will be two version of the library, one with and one without a HiColour FMV player. The package will come with both the library and a windows based conversion program.
Why charge for it when there are free HiColor converters available on the net? All public domain HiColor converters that we've seen appears to be very limited in usage. Our library will allow actual gameplay when displaying high quality HiColor pictures, with any number of sprites on the screen (up to the hardware maximum), digitzed samples and more, without consuming any extra CPU load.

Sqrxz online |
Both Sqrxz GBC and Willy Wonderworm GBC have been uploaded again. Former can be found on its own page, latter in the others section. Marcus Westerlund, original author of Sqrxz, is currently preparing a page dedicated to this popular J'n'R. He has also coded a nice Sqrxz applet, so you can play Sqrxz in your browser. Check the link on the Sqrxz page!

Webpage optimized |
In order to shorten download times, the menus have been moved into a seperate file which only has to be loaded once, saving about 5KB on each HTML file. What's more, Andreas has completely rewritten the menu system, which should now work better in Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. Maybe it also fixes the Netscape crashing bug. Please let Andreas know of any bugs you encounter.

Bugs (Netscape) fixed |
After quite some work, I hopefully have fixed the nasty problems with Netscape. Menus should disappear now and the (updated) About us page should work nicely, too. If you still encounter some bug, please contact me immediately!

New page unveiled |
Finally, the new website of Icarus Productions is finished. The focus on GameBoy Color programming should come out more, we've streamlined some of the information a bit, while adding other articles. There is still some new information to come, and the news service will is supposed to work on a more regular basis again. Please tell us what you think of the new site! Note that there are still some minor things left, as well as problems with Netscape Communicator. These will be resolved during the next few days.

Michael Kristiansen joins IP |
We have a new member! While the bulk of us will continue with GameBoy Color coding, Michael will take care of TI-89 related stuff, so we won't lose our original TI focus. He'll also be responsible for other general things, like webpage maintenance, etc. When checking the about us section, you'll also notice it's new layout. Hope you like it.

Andreas and Johannes have yet again started with a new website design. Special focus lies in better a color scheme and fresher layout. We hope you like the new menu system, as well as the news system, which makes the front page not look too overloaded.
